The Office of Student Employment Services (SES) is a one-stop human resource and employment center serving students registered full-time in the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences (KSAS) and the Whiting School of Engineering (WSE). This includes AAP and EP.
Students wanting a part-time job can search for on-campus employment, and off-campus job, or a community service position simply by logging into the SES web-based job search program.
The SES web site @ www.jhu.edu/stujob also provides students with a bevy of information from completing an On-Line Application to Signing-up for Direct Deposit and everything in between.
In addition to providing employment and job search services, the SES processes all student hire documents, maintains all student employment records, and provides an array of human resource services; they include: employee/supervisor relations, compensation, performance management, training, benefits, one-on-one job searching, counseling etc.
Special events hosted throughout the year by SES include:
The annual Student Job Fair where students have the opportunity to meet and interview with a host of campus and off-campus employers.
The annual Student Employment Awards Ceremony. Each year, employers throughout the Hopkins community nominate their outstanding student worker/s to receive the prestigious JHU Student Employee of the Year Award. The winning student goes on to compete in the state, regional, and national competition.
- National Student Employment Week, a university-wide celebration designed to show appreciation for student workers. All departments are encouraged to participate and join in the festivities. Numerous special events are held throughout the week honoring both students and the employers who hire and mentor them.
