What is my Username and Password?

  1. If you haven't already done so, you must first establish your account. You only need to do this step once. Click here to sign-up. You will need to know either your participant ID number or your Johns Hopkins Medical Record Number. If you received a study packet in the mail, you can find your participant ID number on the survey next to your name. If you did not receive a study packet or cannot find it, you can sign-up using your 8-digit Johns Hopkins Medical Record Number found on your orange card or paperwork from your hospital and doctor visits.

How do I copy and paste my password from my email?

Copying and pasting is the easiest way to insert your password from your email into the Log-In website. Here is how to copy and paste:

    • To Right-Click: Press the right button on the mouse.
    • To Left-Click: Press the left button on the mouse.

    1. First, you'll need to select the text you wish to copy from your email. You do this by putting your mouse cursor at the first character of the password, holding down the left mouse button, drag the cursor to the last character you need copied, then let go of the button. As you drag, you'll notice everything gets highlighted (selected)."
    2. Next, right-click the highlighted area. Choose Copy from the menu that pops up (or you can hold down Ctrl and press the C key at the same time on the keyboard).
    3. Finally, right-click the area on the Log-In website where the password should go. Click Paste from the menu that pops up (or you can hold down, Ctrl and press the V key at the same time on the keyboard).

I am still having trouble with the Username and Password. What do I do?

Please check that your username and password are entered correctly. They must be written exactly as they appear in your email. Please note all passwords contain at least one special character and are case sensitive. A special character is any character that is not a number or a letter.

    For example: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - +

If you look on your keyboard, most of the special characters are on the same keys as the numbers. In order to type a special character, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and press the key of the character that you wish to enter.

For example: ! is created by holding down the Shift key and typing the number 1 at the same time.
